The Panthers of French Camp Academy used a trio of first place finishes to finish second in the MHSAA Class 1A Boys State Track meet.
The FCA girls finished 11th in the 1A girls state meet, while the Choctaw County Chargers finished 22nd in the MHSAA Boys Class 3A State Track Meet.
The FCA boys took first place in the 4×800 relay with a time of 9:08.36. Kendall Coleman took first in the 400 meters with a time of 52.15, while finishing second in a photo finish in the 200 meters with a time of 23.11 and claiming a third in the 800 meters.
The other first place for FCA came in the shot put where Skylyr Effler won with a distance of 42 feet, 10 and a half inches.
Jason May took a second in the pole vault for French Camp, while Chris Dean finished sixth. Nathan Greve was second in the 1600 meter run and fourth in the 800 meters. Kevin Bobo was sixth in the 800 meters, while Ryder Woods was eighth in the 110 meter hurdles and David Duarte took eighth in both the 1600 meters and 3200 meters.
The French Camp boys finished second with 74 points, while Mound Bayou JFK won with 91 points. Sebastopol was third with 62 points and Tupelo Christian was fourth with 61 points.
The French Camp girls finished 11th with 26 points, while Tupelo Christian won with 125 points.
The FCA girls relay team took second in the 4×800 and seventh in 4×400.
Emmaline Morgan was fifth in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs, while Ami Sherrif was fourth in the 800 meters. Abigail Holman took seventh in the 800 meter run and eighth in the triple jump.
Tylertown was the 3A boys title, while Choctaw County finished 22nd. Tyler Riley was fifth in the 300 meter hurdles for the Chargers, while Israel Whitmore was fifth in the boys shot put.
