From press & staff reports

The residents of the Choctaw County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center recently celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a party and get together March 17.

The residents got into the spirit of the holiday by wearing green, as well as enjoying cake, ice cream, chips, cookies, and drink provided by the CNRC staff. The residents also enjoyed music and fellowshipped among each other during the celebration.

According to www.history.com, St. Patrick’s Day occurs annually on March 17 in observance of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. What began as a religious feast day in the 17th century has evolved into a variety of festivals across the globe celebrating Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, and a whole lot of green.
