The Basics of Taking Good Photos

The Basics of Taking Good Photos will be offered Thursday, March 30 at noon at MSU Extension-Choctaw County office (Courthouse Annex).  Photographer Kevin Hudson will present the program by interactive video and will share his expertise in the basics of taking good photos to enhance your subject and quality of your photography.  This program is free to the public. Floral Design Workshop

Lynette McDougald with MSU’s University Florist will present a hands-on Easter floral design workshop Tuesday, April 4 at 2 p.m. in Ackerman. Cost is $20 per person. Participants will need to bring a container (low bowl or basket with 4-6” opening), knife, stem cutter and pruners. Three Social Media classes will be held in April. Ellen Graves with MSU Extension will teach how to use Facebook, Instagram and Twitter on mobile devices and tablets.  April 6th Facebook, April 13th Instagram, and April 20 Twitter. Lady’s Conference

Providence Baptist Church in Choctaw County will host its 11th Annual Lady’s Conference April 1st at 5:00 pm in the Family Life Center. Our speaker will be, singer/songwriter Brenda Whitlock from Okolona, MS. Admission is free. Nursery provided for ages Kindergarten and under. Refreshments served following program.

Kids Fishing Rodeo

April 22

Kids, get your fishing gear ready for the annual Kids Fishing Rodeo on April 22 at Choctaw Lake. Registration at 7:30 a.m. with Opening Ceremony at 8:45 a.m. Fishing from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. For ages 15 and under. Bring your own pole, bait and stringer.
