This year’s Choctaw County Beauty and Beau Review took place over two days. The high school pageant was on Thursday, February 23, 2017, and the Mistress of Ceremonies was Mrs. Katelyn Thames.

The Most Beautiful winners were Macey Gammill for grades 10th-12th and Kaylee Wilkerson for grades 7th-9th.

Dalton Threadgill won Most Handsome for the 10th-12th grade division, and Brian Threadgill won Most Handsome for the 7th-9th grade division.

The elementary pageant was on Saturday, February 25, 2017, and the Mistress of Ceremonies was Mrs. Mariann Beals.

The Most Beautiful and Most Handsome were: Ava Beth Shurden and Colt Salley for Pre-K – Kindergarten; Madelyn Lauren Sanders and Conner Reed Shurden for 1st – 3rd grades; Ella Power and Will Taylor for 4th – 6th grades.

The theme of this year’s pageant was “All That Glitters,” which was highlighted by decorations of gold, silver, candlelight, grapevines, Magnolia leaves, tulle, and bouquets of white daisies from Forget-Me-Not Florist. Southern Belle designed T-shirts with the theme and Ackerman Trophy supplied all prizes.

Mrs. Cyrena Shows and Mrs. Janet Alashti organized the events, which are the Choctaw County High School Yearbook Staff’s biggest fundraisers and help to keep the costs of yearbooks at a reasonable price each year. Much appreciation goes to the many volunteers and judges who helped make the Choctaw County Beauty and Beau Review a success again this year.
