The Basics of Taking Good Photos

The Basics of Taking Good Photos will be offered Thursday, March 30 at noon at MSU Extension-Choctaw County office (Courthouse Annex).  Photographer Kevin Hudson will present the program by interactive video and will share his expertise in the basics of taking good photos to enhance your subject and quality of your photography.  This program is free to the public. Revival Services

Revival services will be held at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church (9300 MS Hwy 413, betweenm French Camp and Weir) from March 19-22. The evangelist will be Mr. Wayne Hudson of Complete In Christ Ministries, Music will be provided by the Steve & Becky Carver Family. Service will be at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. daily Monday through Wednesday. Lunch will be served on Sunday with a meal at 6 p.m. each night.

Cruise In

Cars & Motorcycle Cruise-In, Food & Music at the park in Sturgis, MS from 9 AM to 2:00 PM on Sat, March 25.  Free T-shirts to 1st 25 car/bike entries, Plaque Awards, BBQ by Fireman John, Competitive Cooker.  Sponsored by Choctaw Cruisers Car Club & the Town of Sturgis.

Choctaw County Summer Youth Meeting/Draft

Gordon Family Reunion

The annual Gordon Reunion will be held 4th Sunday in March at the Panhandle Community Center in Choctaw County. We will gather starting at 11:00 with lunch served just after noon and cakewalk to follow.  Also you are welcome to attend worship sevices at Mt.Zion Church at 11. Hope to see you March 26.

Historical & Genealogical Society meeting

The Choctaw County Historical & Genealogical Society is please to have Jack Elliott, Jr. join us for our March 27 meeting at 12 noon in the Meeting Room at the Choctaw County Public Library.  He is the retired Historical Archaeologist for the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and is currently lecturer in geography and religion at the Meridian Campus of Mississippi State University.  He will bring us an interesting program about Architecture of Mississippi Homes.  All interested parties are welcome to join us.  For more information call Margie Simpson Gilmer at 662-285-2356.

Gospel Singing

A gospel singing will be held at Stewart Fire Dept. (Hwy 82 in Stewart across from 4-D) March 25 at 6 p.m. Featuring performances from Two for God, David McMillian & Family, The Pouders Family, Heavenly Journey, Family Tradition, and others. Everyone is welcome to come join us for a great night of singing, food, and fellowship. No admission, just a love offering for the groups singing. Concessions available.
