Annual Spring Revival

First Unity United Methodist Church family, located in Weir, invites everyone to their annual Spring Revival March 6-8 at 7 p.m. nightly. The guest evangelist will be Rev. Marvin K. Myles Jr., pastor at Galilee M.B. Church in Carthage.

Silent Auction

March 4

Grace Christian School (173 McLeod Rd. in Louisville) will host a Silent Auction March 4 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Arts, crafts, homemade food and baked goods will be available. Stay and enjoy a sack lunch for $5 that includes a BBQ sandwich, bag of chips, pickle, cookie, and a drink.

Tell Me Evangelist Rally

The Tell Me Evangelist Rally will be held Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at Ackerman Baptist Church

(185 East Cherry Street). Sponsored by the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board (MBCB) and Choctaw Baptist Association. Dr. Jim Futral, Executive Secretary of MBCB will be present. Come and be challenged in your walk and witness with Christ!  People of all churches and dominations are invited to attend.

Private Applicator Training

There will be a Private Applicator Training (PAT) held at the Choctaw County 4-H Building in Ackerman on Monday, March 6, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. If you are wanting to obtain your PAT license or in need of renewing yours, please contact Darrell Banks, ANR/4-H Agent at 662-285-6337 or email The cost to attend and obtain your license is $20.


100 Men and 100 Women program

The First Unity United Methodist Church, Planning Committee cordially invites you to attend our “100 Men and 100 Women in Red and Black” program Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. Speakers along with their choirs to be present: Dr. Marvin K. Historical Society meeting

Welcome to members and interested parties to our Historical Society meeting on Feb. 27. Mattie McDaniels will be our speaker and her topic is entitled “An Overview Of Some Of The First Slave Families of Choctaw County.” The meeting will be held in the meeting room at the Choctaw County Public Library at 12 noon. Monthly service

Kingdom Covenant Connections Ministries’ monthly service will be held on Sunday, February 26th at 4 p.m. at the World Outreach Bible Training Center, located at 323 South Jones Street, Louisville, MS. Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting

March 9

The Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce invites the public to attend the Annual Meeting on March 9 at 5:30pm at the Community Center in Ackerman. At the meeting, Chamber members will elect two board members and there will be a short presentation. Chamber members are encouraged to attend to vote. Membership forms will be available during the Annual meeting for any businesses or individuals that are interested in joining the Chamber of Commerce. Refreshments will be served.
