The November Historical Highlight Thanksgiving Luncheon has been changed to the first Tuesday of the month – November 1 – and will be held at 12 noon at French Camp Presbyterian Church. The speakers will be Patsy and Roy Hawkins.
Patsy grew up in French Camp and graduated from FCA in 1965 and will be talking about what French Camp was like 65 years ago. She is a retired school teacher, having taught 1st – 8th graders for 38 years in several different schools. Patsy’s husband Roy will also be sharing stories about French Camp. He is a Baptist minister and Choctaw Baptist Association’s Missions Director as well as an avid hunter and writer for the Choctaw Plaindealer.
The December 13 Historical Highlight Christmas Luncheon will feature music by Ackerman singer Danita Oswalt Douglas. Participants are asked to bring a small gift ($5 max) for a fun gift exchange.
Historical Highlight Luncheons are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 12:00 noon, at French Camp Presbyterian Church. The luncheons feature a speaker who shares about some aspect of French Camp’s history along with a delicious home-cooked meal for a $2.00 donation. The community is invited.
