Weir holds special aldermen election

The town of Weir, Mississippi held a special election Tuesday, December 22 from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. to elect an alderman for the vacated position held by Doug Atkinson. Atkinson resigned his post effective October 30, 2015.

The election was held at the Fire Department at 46 Ann Street in Weir. Shuni Coffey won the election over Javette Pratt. At press time the vote count was unavailable.

Town Clerk, Cyndy Josey reported no problems with the election.
