Dunk-a-Candidate raises funds for Jack-O-Lantern Jam

The Dunk-a-Candidate booth at the 2015 Pine Tree Music Fest was a success!

The Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce partnered with Southern Company Services-Red Hills Operations to host the Dunk-a-Candidate booth. This dunking booth was a fundraiser to help fund the Chamber of Commerce’s Jack-O-Lantern Jam in October. The booth raised more than $700 to help the Chamber offer more activities at Jack-O-Lantern Jam.

Ten local candidates helped raise funds by entering the dunking booth for at least 30 minutes each. They were:
Lori Kerr – Candidate for Tax Assessor/Collector (Incumbent)
Brian Sims – Candidate for District 35 House Representative
Joey Stephenson – Candidate for District 1 Supervisor
Smokey Miles – Candidate for for District 1 Supervisor
Chris McIntire – Candidate for District 3 Supervisor (Incumbent)
Joey Hood – Candidate for District 35 Representative (Incumbent)
Charlie Miller – Candidate for Sheriff
Greg Fondren – Candidate for District 2 Supervisor
Tony Kimbrough – Candidate for District 4 Supervisor
Cloyd Halford – Candidate for Sheriff (Incumbent)

Thank you to these candidates for being brave enough to enter the dunking tank and for helping raise funds for Jack-O-Lantern Jam.

Also at the booth, people purchased chances to win a Yeti cooler filled with goodies. The lucky winner was Reba Nowell.

The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Southern Company Services-Red Hills Operations for all of their help in hosting the Dunk-a-Candidate booth.

Jack-O-Lantern Jam is a family friendly, kids’ event that the Chamber sponsors on the Saturday before Halloween. Events include a trunk-or-treat, games, food, costume contest and more.
