Supervisor mid month meeting covers request of extension on LSPB funds

The Choctaw County Board of Supervisors held a meeting on October 15.

In the meeting, they approved the following:
-To adopt and sign a letter to MDOT asking for an extension to use the county’s LSPB funds. The funds use state and federal funds along with local funds to update bridges int he county that maybe in disrepair. LSBP stands for Local System Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program.
-Inventory deletions.
-Request by Peggy Miller, Circuit clerk, for the 3 percent cost of living raise for her employee.
-To acknowledge court attendance document for Peggy Miller, Circuit clerk.
-Certificate of training for Miller.
-To change the county’s travel reimbursement policy to follow the state’s travel expenditures policy which is to follow the state per diem rate while traveling on county business for overnight stay.
-For District 2 payoff the previous purchase of a backhoe.
-Final paperwork that was approved by the state allowing the tax assessor to give Mississippi Forge tax exemptions as previously approved by the supervisors.
-Acknowledge letter from Lori Kerr, tax assessor, requesting the 3 percent cost of living raise for employees.
-Request from Kerr for $51 to purchase deposit slips.
-Recognize rate of pay sheet for the Sheriff’s Department submitted by Sheriff Cloyd Halford.
The next Board of Supervisors meeting will be Friday, October 31 at 9 a.m. at the courthouse.
