Ackerman 20th Century Club holds planning meeting

The planning meeting of the GFWC Twentieth Century Club of Ackerman was held Thursday, July 29, 2014 at 6:30 pm in the home of Tinker Forrester. There

were a total of ten members present. New Club President Ginny Lucas served as hostess.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Treasurer Tinker Forrester reported there will be a complete treasurer’s report at the August meeting. Correspondence included several thank you notes.
Committee Reports: Distinguished Young Woman – Chairmen and Judges Workshops will be held August 14, 2014 in Meridian. Tentative date for 2015 program was discussed. Fundraising: Upcoming projects include Innisbrook giftwrap sales with books to be handed out at the August meeting and Christmas Brunch tentative date is December 6. Community Improvement Project – Researching possible options for helping the Master Gardeners with the Main Street Beautification Project.
Wounded Warrior 5K date has been set for September 12, 2015.
Membership Attendance Prize was won by Susan Shurden.
President Lucas led the group in a ball game in which the value of Focusing on our tasks was highlighted. She then passed out sheets with 2014-2016 assignments and encouraged everyone to focus on our respective areas for a successful club year. Members are to email all project plans to Vice President Donna McKay by August 4.
Dates for the regular club meetings were discussed and will be printed in the yearbook.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:28 pm that night.
