Healthcare in Choctaw County is “under new management” as of August 1. The Choctaw County Hospital Board of Trustees hired

Trilogy Healthcare Solutions and Sunflower Management to manage the county’s hospital, nursing home and medical clinics.
“The critical areas are up and running,” said Toby Butler, managing partner of Trilogy Healthcare Solutions, after only 10 hours from “going live” at 12:01 a.m. on August 1.
With the transition of the hospital and other facilities brings new facility names. Each facility now has a new name: Choctaw Regional Medical Center (hospital), Choctaw Medical Clinic (next to the hospital), Choctaw Medical Clinic of Ackerman (Dr. Prosser’s clinic), Choctaw Medical Clinic of Weir, Choctaw Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (the nursing home) and Choctaw Rehabilitation (PHYSICAL, OCCUPATIONAL, SPEECH) (physical therapy).
Banners were placed on top of the Pioneer Health Systems signs (the previous company that leased the facilities).
Butler said that a design firm is working on re-branding the healthcare facilities. New signs are coming soon for each facility.
The facilities’ names may have changed, but at this time, the physicians have not.
“All physicians are still practicing here and at their current locations, ” said Butler.
“It’s business as usual.”
Interim management at the hospital includes CEO Jamie Rodgers and CFO Jeff Bedford. The interim CEO at the nursing home is Jan Maddux.
Choctaw Regional Medical Center and its other facilities still offer emergency department, ambulance service (by MedStat), radiology, laboratory, swing bed program, outpatient behavioral health, long term living, respiratory, physical, speech and occupational therapy.
“We are ready to take care of the community’s needs,” said Butler.
Preparing for the transition and making it through took place because of the Hospital Board of Trustees and the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors.
“The Board of Trustees has done a phenomenal job. The community needs to give them a pat on the back,” said Butler.
He said the supervisors were instrumental in securing the line of credit for the trustees so that they would have operating funds for the hospital and facilities.
Now that the transition has happened Trilogy will move into the next phase-strategic planning.
“Next is to build us into a great hospital,” said Butler. “The true reason for being here is building a great hospital. Something to be proud of, but we need the communities support.”
He added that Choctaw County has a really good hospital but now it’s time to “turn it into a great hospital.”
Butler also said that the staffs of the facilities are great and very dedicated to providing great healthcare to the community.
The Hospital Board of Trustees hired Trilogy Healthcare Solutions and Sunflower Management earlier this summer to manage all healthcare facilities in Choctaw County.
Trilogy will manage the hospital while Sunflower will manage the nursing home.
“It’s one cohesive effort,” said Butler about both management companies. He said that both have the same objectives in mind.
“We’re excited to have Trilogy and Sunflower working for us. We are looking forward to a long relationship,” said Rick Jenkins, president of the Hospital Board of Trustees.
