The Mississippi State University Extension Service and Choctaw County Library will be sponsoring another opportunity for
readers from Choctaw, and surrounding counties, to join in meeting and discussing a book by a Mississippi author.
Natchez native, Ashton Lee, will be coming to the library on Tuesday, August 5 at 10 am to talk about The Cherry Cola Book Club, set in fictitious Cherico, MS. This story could have taken place in most of the towns in Mississippi. While it is enjoyable and fun to read, there is also much food for thought (not to mention some delicious recipes) in this book.
Currently, the book is available on line through Amazon at $7.59 for paperback and $9.39 for the Kindle edition. From the publisher, Kensingtonbooks.com, the cost is $10.50. The author will bring a few of this book, plus the second in this series, entitled The Reading Circle. He has already completed book #3, and is beginning book #4 in the Cherry Cola Series.
Discussion of the book will begin at 10 am, with light refreshments to follow. Even if you don’t have the opportunity to read the book before August 5, please join Yarn Spinners and listen and you may decide you would like to read it.
As always, Yarn Spinners events are free and open to the public. For more information, call the Extension Office at 662-285-6337.
