Sunflower LTC Management and Trilogy Healthcare Solutions are the next leaders in healthcare for Choctaw County.
The Choctaw County Hospital Board of Trustees approved management contracts with both companies on June 30 in a joint meeting with the Board of Supervisors.
After spending hours going over each management contract, page-by-page, the trustees approved each contract effective August 1.
Management contracts are needed due to the lease with Pioneer Health Systems being terminated as of July 31. Pioneer terminated their lease of the county owned hospital, nursing home and medical clinics earlier this year.
The Board of Supervisors appointed the Hospital Board of Trustees in June to handle the transition and management contracts for all facilities.
The trustees approved contract with Trilogy Healthcare Solutions for management of the hospital at the rate of $20,000 per month and a two percent net collection rate.
The nursing home management contract is between the trustees and Sunflower LTC Management for a monthly fee of $15,000.
A third contract was approved between Sunflower and the trustees for a revenue cycle consulting agreement at a rate of seven percent of net collection.
The Board of Trustees also approved a resolution giving Trilogy and Sunflower authority to negotiate and bind the hospital, nursing home and clinics, as necessary and subject to board approval from June 30 to August 1. This would include doctors’ contracts, employment and more.
Also, in their June 30 meeting, the trustees approved Rick Jenkins as chairman and Harvey Black and vice chairman of the board. Other board members are Bobby Prewitt, Waverly King and Dorothy Lilley.
