Two FCA Panthers named to All-State team

Hagan Box and Cole Henson of French Camp Academy were named to the recently released Mississippi Association of Coaches MHSAA Class 1A All-State Baseball team.
Box was selected to the fist team as an infielder, while Henson made the second team as a pitcher. Both Box and Henson have signed to play baseball for Itawamba Community College next season.
Box hit .385 for the Panthers this season while ripping nine doubles and scoring 20 runs. He also went 4-2 on the mound with a 1.45 ERA and one save and 70 strikeouts in 43.1 innings pitcher.
Henson had a 402 record and a 1.96 ERA in 39.1 innings, while recording 41 strikeouts. Henson had four doubles, a triple and a homer and led the Panthers with 22 RBIS, while hitting. 280.
Named as the 1A Player of the Year was J.G. Lipscomb of Tupelo Christian, while Stephen Kerr of Smithville was chosen as Coach of the Year.
Other players of local interest making the 1A team were Stewart Ball and Jacob Hemphill of Nanih Waiya and Colton Tharp and Cody shaw of Sebastopol.
Dalton Hudspeth, Wyatt Roberts and Channing Wall of Louisville High School were named to the 3A team, while making the 2A team were Rusty Johnson and Trey Pittman of Eupora and Derek Jones and Miller Hancock of East Webster.
