Mississippi Lignite Mining Company assists with Louisville tornado relief

The Red Hills Mine staff and employees responded to the needs of the Louisville community as quickly as possible. Contributions of 200 new shirts, several pallets of water, 320 bags of ice, food items, and paper goods were taken to the Louisville Coliseum. Several mine employees volunteered their time and labor in the clean-up operation. The Mining Company provided them with chain saws along with the necessary safety glasses, gloves, and safety chaps to insure their safety while working in the clean-up efforts. Employees also assisted by operating heavy equipment used in the clean-up and by helping install a roof on a damaged home. The Mining Company offers our sincere thanks to our employees who contributed to the tornado relief effort.
