Benefit set for storm victims

From Press Reports

A benefit for three persons who were affected by the F4 tornado in Winston County will be held May 9.
Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw, Choctaw Nursing Center, Pioneer Medical Center, Pioneer Family Medical of Ackerman, Pioneer Family Medical of Weir, PCH MAC Committee, Super Valu in Ackerman, Starkville Recycling, TDC in Maben and Britt Goodin of Mathiston will be hosting a benefit for three families that work here at the PCH facility that were directly affected by the tornados in Louisville.
They will be selling pulled pork sandwich plates. The plates will include a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, cole slaw, desert and sweet/unsweet tea. Plates will $8 and will be available for pick up in the PCH Choctaw dining room from 11 AM on May 9 until all plates are sold. Delivery will also be available.
Sheena Lampley’s 4 year old daughter is currently being treated in Jackson for injuries that she incurred when the daycare was destroyed. Sheena is a medication nurse at Choctaw Nursing Center. Ashtyn Rose was in Ruth Bennett’s protective arms when she was found. “Bennett gave her life for sweet Ashtyn and our goal here is to make sure that our co-worker Sheena doesn’t have to worry about any expenses while she is in Jackson with her baby,” stated a Pioneer Representative.
Valerie Lee’s home and car were a total loss. Valerie is a medication nurse at Choctaw Nursing Center as well. Valerie is married with four sons and she will have to replace everything that they had.
Broam Burnside and his mother’s home was also a total loss. Broam is a laboratory technologist at PCH Choctaw.
“These families have many needs right now and we feel like it is the least that we can do to host a benefit to help them to rebuild and to make sure that the only thing that Sheena has to worry about is little Ashtyn Rose,” stated a Pioneer Representative.
