Choctaw County Celebrates Extension Service Centennial

To celebrate 100 years of the Extension Service in Mississippi, the Choctaw County Extension office is hosting an open house. The event will be May 8 from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Choctaw County Extension Office located in the Courthouse Annex in Ackerman.
“The public is invited to stop by and look at old photographs, cookbooks and other items on display. Refreshments will be served and door prizes given out,” stated Juli Hughes, County Coordinator.
“The Mississippi State University Extension Service is committed to providing research-based learning opportunities designed to help Mississippians solve problems, develop skills and build a better future,” said Gary Jackson, director of the MSU Extension Service. “Along with our many state and local partners, we look forward to celebrating our past accomplishments while maintaining a focus on the bright future ahead.”
