Supervisors hold first meeting of April

The Choctaw County Board of Supervisors held a short first meeting of the month of April.

In the April 7 board meeting, they approved:

  • Agenda.
  • Jail inspection.
  • February minutes.
  • To allow District 3 to go on the private property of Ken Goins to fix a drainage problem after installing a culvert on county property.
  • Delta Telephone utility agreement on East Reform Sturgis, Pinnix, Blythe Creek Extension, Sherwood, and East Sherwood Roads in District 2. Supervisor Larry McClain said Delta is installing fiber optic cables.
  • Permission for Lori Kerr, tax assessor, to allow the MSU Department of Forestry access to the landowners’ base.
  • The airport liability annual insurance renewal for $1,318. This is a $63 increase from the previous year.

The next Board of Supervisor meeting will be Wednesday, April 30 at 9 a.m. at the courthouse.
