The Lady Chargers trip to Forest for district play was postponed on Monday, April 7 due to rain. The game has been rescheduled for Wed. April 16.
On Thursday, April 10, the Lady Chargers played host to Raleigh. Emily Robison was on the mound for the Chargers. It was a scoreless matchup until the bottom of the 3rd, when the Chargers put 3 runs on the board and another in the 4th giving them a 4-0 lead going into the 5th inning. Raleigh was close the gap in the 5th with 2 runs.
In the bottom of the 6th the Chargers bats came alive once again as they added 6 runs to increase their lead 10-2. Raleigh was only able to score 1 in the 7th when Makenzie Toombs took the mound to close the game for the Chargers. Hits for the night for the Lady Chargers came from Kierra Fair and Brennan Power with singles, Brysa Maxwell with a double and 2 RBI’s, Lizzie Thomas with a triple and a RBI, Haley Lucas with 2 singles and a RBI, and Laiana Cork with 2 singles and 3 RBI’s.
The Lady Chargers defeated Raleigh 10-3 to add another win to their record of 4-2 in district play with 4 district games left to play in the season. As of now, the Chargers are scheduled to play at Forest on Wednesday, April 16 and at home against SE Lauderdale on Thursday, April 17.
They will travel to Choctaw Central on Monday, April 21, and play at home on Tuesday, April 22 against Philadelphia with weather permitting.
