The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to 5-7 in the North Division with two wins over Coahoma Community College, 6-0 and 7-0 on Tuesday, then swept two from Williams Baptist College on Wednesday to moved to 24-10 overall on the season.
The Bulldogs’ doubleheader with EMCC was washed out on Saturday, while HCC was set to face Northwest Mississippi CC on Tuesday then then visit Itawamba on Friday.
In game one against Coahoma, Jason Hursey picked up the complete game win. He gave up no runs on three hits, six strikeouts and no walks. Cole Feazell, Clyde Kendrick and Deion Ulmer each led the Bulldogs with two hits with Feazell adding a solo home run.
In game two, Clyde Kendrick picked up the complete game win. He gave up no runs on four hits with no walks and eight strikeouts. Ulmer led the Bulldogs with three hits including a double while Kendrick added two hits with a double.
Brister Dupont, Hunter Bull and Jared Bailey combined for a no-hitter in a 15-0 win over Williams Baptist in the first game of the doubleheader on Wednesday. Jaylan Bledsoe had three hits for the winners, while Ulmer popped a double and single and scored four runs. Kendrick also had a single and double for the Bulldogs.
The Second game saw J.P. Zeigler and Jared Bailey combine for another no-hitter in a 7-0 victory. Chad McNeil homered for Holmes, while Kendrick tripled and Cody Sartin also picked up a hit.
The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs fell to 14-19 overall and 9-7 in the North Division after falling twice to the East Mississippi Community College Lady Lions, 4-0 and 4-2 on Saturday
In game one, Katie Johnston suffered the loss. She went six innings and gave up four runs on eight hits striking out two and walked one. Samantha Meadows picked up the only hit for the Lady Bulldogs.
In game two, Brett Whitlock suffered the loss. She went six innings and gave up four runs on nine hits striking out one and walking two. Meadows and Charneissa Gordon each had two hits in the game.
Holmes hosts Itawamba on Tuesday in a division doubleheader at 2 p.m. and then travels to Northwest on Friday at 2 p.m. in another division doubleheader.
