The Choctaw County High School golf team squeaked out a one-stroke win in a tri-match at Louisville Country Club last Tuesday.
Kent Vaughn carded a 46 to lead CCHS, which had a team total of 207, compared to 208 for second place Nanih Waiya, East Webster finished third.
Spencer Power fired a 51 in that match, while Dylan Jones had a 54 and Preston Payne carded a 56.
CCHS traveled to Union on Thursday and finished third in a tri-match. Union won with a 167 as two-time defending 2A champion Andy Ogletree carded a 36, while Forest was second with a 168 and Choctaw County had a 207.
Vaughn led the Chargers with a 43, while Tres Gammill had a 52 and Jones and Adam Threadgill each shot 54s. Kindal Gammill had a 59.
The CCHS squad was set to visit Louisville Country Club again on Thursday to take on Nanih Waiya and Winona, before heading to Forest on Tuesday to play in the region tournament. Also competing in the region event at Forest Country club will be Southeast Lauderdale, Forest, Choctaw Central, Philadelphia and Winona.
