The Tombigbee National Forest hosted the second annual “Take Pride in America Day” at Choctaw Lake Recreation Area on Saturday, March 1. Take Pride in America’s mission is to increase the public’s sense of responsibility for public resources and invite the public to help maintain and enhance our shared spaces.
Volunteers worked hard on beautification projects and to help clean up around Choctaw Lake.
As a thank you for their hard work, volunteers were served breakfast and lunch.
The Tombigbee National Forest would like to thank all of our volunteers and partners that helped to make “Take Pride in America Day at Choctaw Lake” such a huge success.
Sponsors for the 2014 Take Pride in America Day were: Southern Company, Clark Beverages, Supervalu, Dollar General, Wal-Mart, Frito Lay’s, Curtis Flaherty, Woodmen of the World, Choctaw County Economic Development District, Choctaw County Board of Supervisors and University Screenprinting.
