The Lady Chargers played host to Calhoun City on Tuesday, March 18. In JV action, Halle Ruth Stevenson was on the mound for the Chargers and led the young Chargers to a 16-0 victory over Calhoun City. Stevenson recorded 4 strikeouts in the 3 inning game and only gave up 1 hit. Base hits for the Chargers came from Laiana Cork with a @2 RBI triple, Allie Brown with a double and a triple with 2 RBI’s, Hannah Harris and Brennan Power each had a single.
In Varsity action, Sarah Moss was on the mound. The Lady Chargers took a 16-1 victory over Calhoun City in 3 innings. Moss recorded 3 strikeouts and only gave up 3 hits and 1 run. Base hits were recorded with a triple and a bunt with 1 RBI, Haley Lucas with a RBI single, and Laiana Cork with a 2 RBI double.
On Thursday, the Chargers travelled to Eupora. In the JV game, the Chargers gave up their 1st loss in the season with a score of 6-2.Lizzie Thomas and Halle Ruth Stevenson each saw pitching time. Stevenson recorded 4 strikeout in the game and also had 1 hit in the game. Thomas and Brysa Maxwell also hit singles. Allie Brown had a 2 RBI triple.
Varsity action also ended in a loss for the Chargers as Eupora defeated the Chargers 14-5. Makenzie Toombs was on the mound and had a 2 RBI double and a single in the game. Haley Lucas had a RBI single, and a RBI double. Brysa Maxwell and Emily Robison each hit singles.
On Friday, the Lady Chargers hosted Forrest High School in the 1st district game of the season. Emily Robison was on the mound in the 3 inning no hitter 15-0 win for the Lady Chargers. Hits for the Chargers came from Abbie Paten, Brennan Power, Haley Lucas, Kierra Fair and Robison, all with singles. Makenzie Toombs had a single and a 2 RBI double, and a 4 RBI in the park home run.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Raleigh on Monday, March 24 for another district game, will host Choctaw Central for district action on Thursday, March 27, and the travel to Ethel on Friday, March 28. Come out and support the Chargers.
