The Chargers of Choctaw County High School are looking to shake off a tough week, as they continue district play this week.

CCHS was set to visit Raleigh on Tuesday, before hosting Choctaw Central on Friday for a pair of region games. The Chargers then take on Caledonia in a non-league game on Saturday.

“We have been struggling at the plate big time,” said CCHS head coach Andy Young. “We have seen like six left-handed pitchers in a row and we haven’t had much success.”

Choctaw County lost to Philadelphia 9-5 in league action last Tuesday, before falling to region power Southeast Lauderdale 17-4 on Friday and then being no-hit by Houston 5-0 on Saturday.

“We are just not getting the hits we are supposed to get,” Young said. “When we get runners on base, we are just not coming through with the big hit to get them in.”

Matthew Bradberry led the Chargers with three this in the loss to Philadelphia while Coty Weaver took the loss on the mound. Weaver had a pair of hits for CCHS against Southeast Lauderdale, while Dylan Jones was the losing pitcher.
