The Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to a reception on Tuesday, March 25 to greet Steve Anderson, the new Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. The reception will be held from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the J.P. Coleman Building, located at 55 East Quinn in Ackerman.
As Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Anderson will be responsible in assisting the local business community with their business related needs and exploring opportunities for growth and improvement. He will do this while planning community development events to encourage interaction between local businesses and Choctaw County residents.
Anderson will also promote the County to local citizens, potential business and industry leaders and at the regional, state and national level.
He is working with Chamber of Commerce Board to plan great community events for county residents and business seminars to help our local business owners.
The Chamber of Commerce Board consists of Dannie Reed, Kasey Young, Jamie McHan, Matthew Cauthen, Tekoa Miller, Debbie Bunkelman and Amanda McBride.
“I plan on working and taking the base of the programs that the Chamber has right now and just continuing to improve those,” Anderson said. “I also plan to bring in new programs that will benefit all of Ackerman, French Camp, and Weir. This will help improve the atmosphere and quality of life in Choctaw County. Choctaw County is a great community and I am glad to be here serving its wonderful residents.”
Two of the biggest events coming up for the Chamber of Commerce are the Fishing Rodeo and Pine Tree Music Fest, formerly JuneFest.
The Chamber is partnering with Choctaw Lake and Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks to provide the annual Fishing Rodeo on April 12.
The Chamber of Commerce sponsors an annual festival each year on the first Saturday in June. This year JuneFest is being rebranded into the Pine Tree Music Fest. Look for more details on both of those events to be announced soon.
Please stop by to introduce yourself and welcome Steve to Choctaw County. Refreshments will be provided. If you any questions or would like more details please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 662-285-3778.
