Mrs. Mary Louise Howell

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Louise Howell, 83, were held at Ackerman Baptist Church in Ackerman on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. Rev. Danny Irvin officiated. Burial at Enon Cemetery in Ackerman.

A native of North Carolina, Mrs. Howell was a retired registered nurse. Mrs. Howell was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Howell died on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Survivors include son, Charles Warren of Brandon; daughters, Rita Prewitt of Ackerman; brother, Ray Keever of Statesville, NC; sister, Ruth Reid of Taylorsville, NC; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.

Family suggests memorials to Ackerman Baptist Church.

Mr. Gerald M. Nason, Sr.

January 21, 2014

Funeral services for Mr. Gerald M. Nason, 77, were held at Wake Forest Baptist Church near Sturgis on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. Rev. Tri Nason and Rev. Bruce Lattimer officiated.

A native of Choctaw County, Mr. Nason was a retired carpenter. Mr. Nason was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church. Mr. Nason died on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at OCH Medical Center in Starkville.

Survivors include son, Buster Nason of Sturgis; daughters, Lynn McClelland of Sturgis, Gina Compton of Sturgis; sisters, Theople Hurst of Kentwood, LA, Vitula Edmonds of Starkville, Annette Allen of Florida, Patsy Wilson of Madison, Bobbie Magee of Kentwood, LA; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.

Family suggests memorials to Wake Forest Cemetery Fund.

Mr. James Frank King

Funeral services for Mr. James Frank King, 62, were held at 11 a.m., January 27, 2014 at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Rev. Buddy Smith and Rev. Charles Rook officiated. Burial followed in South Union Cemetery near Ackerman.

A resident of Laurel, Mr. King was a pipeliner for years. He was also a member of Moss Baptist Church. He died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at his residence in Laurel, Miss.

Survivors include mother Mae King of Ackerman, son Jim King of New Zealand, daughters Stacee Giers of Boca Raton, Fla., Bridgett Peacock of Laurel, brothers Mike King of Ackerman, Rusty King of Ackerman, sister Pam Simpson of Ackerman, and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to South Union Cemetery Fund.
