Holmes Community College freshman point guard Carmesha Nalls hit the game-winning three-pointer as the horn sounded Thursday to lift the Lady Bulldogs to the 79-76 win over the Northeast Mississippi Community College Lady Tigers.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs went to 5-11 overall and 2-3 in the North Division. Holmes travels to Northwest on Monday night to play the Lady Rangers at 5 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs inbounded the ball from the opposite side of the floor to Nalls who dribbled toward the other sideline, crossed half court and heaved the ball just before time expired banking the shot in for the huge division win.
Holmes led 44-39 at halftime, and Northeast outscored the Lady Bulldogs in the second half 37-35 but the Lady Bulldogs were able to pull out the win. Nalls finished the game with 33 points. She hit four three pointers in the game.Tayanna Purnell had 12 points and Taylor Johnson added 11. Laricka Morgan led the Lady Bulldogs in rebounds with 11 while Purnell had 10.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to Baton Rouge Community College, 69-53 last Monday. Baton Rouge lead 42-33 at halftime and then outscored the Lady Bulldogs 27-20 in the second half. Nalls led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points while Brandi Carter had 10. LaShonda Wilson led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 rebounds while Jamieca Sheriff and Morgan had seven each.
The Holmes Community College Bulldogs broke a three-game losing with an impressive 80-66 win over Baton Rouge Community College, who had defeated the Bulldogs earlier in the season.
The game was tied 36-36 at halftime. The Bulldogs then outscored the Bears in the second half 44-30 to pull out the win. Holmes led by 19 in the second half, 74-55. Travis Johnson led the Bulldogs with 21 points while Dayshawn Watkins had 19 and Tamarico Wilson had 12. Johnson and Banks each had seven rebounds.

The Bulldogs led 31-21 at halftime before the Tigers battled back to within six points with 2:50 remaining in the game. The Bulldogs poured it on down the stretch to pull out the 12-point win.
Rodrigues Palmer led the Bulldogs with 15 points in the game while Wilson followed with 13, Watkins had 12 and Ondarious Hamlin had 11. Johnson and Wilson each had six rebounds.
