Mrs. Julia Anne Putman Doss

Services for Julia Anne Putman Doss, 72, of Charleston were Jan. 18, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Charleston, where she was a member, with the Revs. Gary Adams and John Price officiating. Burial was in Old Bethany Cemetery at Slate Springs.

Born March 21, 1941, in Choctaw County, she was the daughter of the late John Harvey Putman Sr. and Susan Vera Bright Putman. Mrs. Doss was a beautician. She died of lung cancer Jan. 15, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Earl Doss; a daughter, Joy Doss Vance of Charleston; a son Nathan Earl Doss of Mount Laurel, N.J.; three sisters, Carolyn Ruth McCoskey of Monticello, Glenda Douglas of Littleton, Colo., and Kathy Neal of Houston; and three grandchildren.

Womble Funeral Home of Charleston was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nobie Kay Ray

French Camp

Nobie Kay Williams Ray, 68, of French Camp, died Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Golden Age Living Center in Eupora from complications of cancer. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11 A.M. from the Oliver Chapel with burial in the Bethsaida Cemetery, near French Camp, with Rev. Gary Jackson officiating.

Mrs. Ray worked at Golden Age Living Center in Eupora for twenty years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of Crape Creek Baptist Church, near Stewart.

Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, Burt Ray of French Camp; son, Michael Ray of French Camp; sister, Sara Williams Latham of Kilmichael.

Pallbearers were Jerry Dale Bridges, Herschel Braswell, Ralph Leonard, Jerry Crowder, Brad Latham, and Jeff Latham.
