So far, so good is the report on the French Camp Academy basketball teams this season.

While neither the boys nor girls team has played very many games so far during the 2013-14 campaign they have both had some success. The Lady Panthers head into 2014 with a 4-2 record, while the Panthers — who got a late start due to the football team’s success — are 2-0.

Both FCA teams return to action in the Montgomery County Tournament Jan. 9-11. On Thursday, Jan. 9 the Lady Panthers will play Winona at 4 p.m., followed by the boys game at 5:20 p.m. The Jan. 10 contests have the girls facing host Montgomery County at 6:40 p.m. and the boys facing off at 8 p.m. FCA will close out its tourney action by taking on the East Webster girls and boys at 2 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.

The French Camp Panthers have already picked up wins over East Webster (52-39) and Nanih Waiya (48-27) this season, while the Lady Panthers have victories over Winona (51-29), Philadelphia (58-45) and Nanih Waiya (36-29 and 64-37).

The FCA girls have lost to Philadelphia (52-43) and East Webster (64-37).
