French Camp Academy quarterback Jesse Hosket was chosen Region 3-1A Player of the Year and was one of 10 Panthers named to the All-Region team.
Hosket hit on 158-of-252 passes on the season for 2,423 yards and 25 touchdowns. Hosket passed for 185 yards and ran for a 6-yard touchdown in French Camp’s 27-6 win over Smithville in the MHSAA Class 1A State Championship Football Game.
Panthers joining Hosket on the All-Region team were Hagan Box, Cortez Johnson, Jevante McAdory, Cole Henson and Hunter McKnight, while Daniel Hughes, Michael Erving, Douglas Hughes and Sam Gould took honorable mention honors.
Box rushed for 619 yards on 122 carries on the season for French Camp, while catching 44 passes for 484 yards. McKnight caught 33 passes for 708 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Henson had 33 catches for 360 yards and four scores.
Daniel Hughes led all French Camp defenders with 119 tackles, while McAdory recorded 110, Johnson 109, and Douglas Hughes 105. Box had 88 tackles, with Henson picking up 82 and Hunter McKnight 52. McKnight and Erving had three interceptions each, while Erving also rushed for 984 yards on 87 carries and caught 25 passes for 396 yards.
Gould hit on 55-of-63 point after attempts and six-of-8 field goal attempts, including a 42-harder in the state championship game.
The Noxapater coaching staff was chosen Region 3-1A Coaching Staff of the Year, while Jamarlo Smith of Nanih Waiya was chosen Offensive Player of the Year and Trevara Miller of Noxapater was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year.
