AES to host school-wide parent meeting Dec. 12

Ackerman Elementary School will host a school-wide parent meeting on December 12. The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the school cafeteria. This is an informational meeting which will highlight programs and strategies meant to improve academic success for all students. All parents are encouraged to come and learn about how they can help their children be successful. If you have any questions please call the school at 662-285-4052.

Holiday Open House Dec. 12

Holiday Open House & Santa is Thursday, December 12 from 2:30 p.m.-6 pm at the Choctaw County Library.  Bring your camera and take pictures with Santa. Other events for the day include MSU ice cream samples, make and take crafts for kids, Festival of Trees, musical entertainment throughout the day, recipes, goodie bags, and door prizes. Area authors will have their new books available. Whitney White’s new book, Who Left Jesus in the Box, just came out in November and signed copies will be available for purchase. Merle Temple will be present to sign copies of his book, A Ghostly Shade of Pale. Bring non-perishable food items and help us Pack-the-Trailer for the WTVA Food for Families Food Drive which will benefit Broken Wings Ministries. WTVA Food For Families Food Drive Dec. 12

Broken Wings Ministries will benefit from the annual WTVA Food for Families Food Drive. For the second year, we will have a Pack-The-Trailer event Thursday, December 12 from 2:30 – 6 pm at the Choctaw County Library during Holiday Open House.  Bring non-perishable food items and help us pack a trailer full of food for Broken Wings! VFW meeting

Dec. 14

VFW Post 5569 will meet Saturday, December 14 at 9:30 a.m. at Cagle’s Corner in Ackerman. All combat veterans invited for a free breakfast. The VFW meets the second Saturday of every month.

Ackerman Baptist to present “Bethlehem Morning” Dec. 15

Ackerman Baptist Church sanctuary choir will be presenting, “Bethlehem Morning” on the evening of December 15. The program will begin at 6 p.m. The choir is under the direction of Chris Jenkins.  Call (662) 285-3211 for more information.

Ackerman Church of God to present “Adore Our New Born King” Dec. 15

Ackerman Church of God will be presenting their Christmas Cantata “Adore Our New Born King” Sunday, December 15 at 6pm. The church is located at 8162 Hwy. 12 West in Ackerman. Pastor James Little and congregation would like to cordially invite the public to come and worship as we celebrate this Christmas season.
