Two CCHS FFA Members to attend Washington Leadership Conference

From press reports

July 8th through the 11th the Choctaw County High School FFA Chapter attended Summer Leadership Camp (SLC).

While there, five members of the chapter: Johnny Douglas, Andy Robison, Samantha Makamson, Macie Cook, and Philip Evans competed in the Cooperative Education competition.

This competition began at State Convention earlier in the summer; the competitors took a 50 question knowledge test and the top 18 scores advanced to compete at SLC. When competing at SLC, the 18 competitors learned what a cooperative (coop) is and how it is conducted. Members also got a chance to run their own coop.

At the end of the week all the competitors took another test and the top two scores were awarded with an all-expense paid trip to Washington Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. the following summer.

The two winners were both members from the Choctaw County High School FFA Chapter: Johnny Douglas and Andy Robison.

This competition was a great experience and a great opportunity to meet new people for the Choctaw County High School FFA Chapter members and they plan to compete again next year.
