The Pink Event was fun and educational for all who attended. Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw sponsored the event as part of their month long Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising.

The Pink Event was held October 29 at the hospital. Speakers were Dr. Wesley Prater, M.D., State Department of Health Consultant and OBGYN, of Canton, and Dr. Nikki Shoemake, M.D. General surgeon, Center for Breast Health and Imaging, of Starkville. They spoke on breast health as well as the flow, process and discovery of breast cancer. Statistics were discussed as well. The audience enjoyed a question and answer period afterward as well.
