Gentiva Hospice celebrates local Veterans with pinning ceremony

From press reports

Gentiva Hospice, a member of the Gentiva family of home health and hospice companies, recognized, honored and celebrated local veterans with a pinning ceremony in Ackerman during the month of November. Locations included pinnings at the Choctaw High School gymnasium on Monday, November 11, 2013.

“We are honored to present and show our appreciation for our local veterans. Each veteran will receive an “Honored Veteran” lapel pin created to recognize their patriotis.,”

“We at Gentiva Hospice feel very strongly about serving the veteran population,” said Executive Director Stacy Thompson. “These men and women risked everything to ensure our freedom. The least that we can do is publicly recognize them and thank them for their service.”

To underscore its commitment to veterans, Gentiva Hospice is taking part in the We Honor Veterans program, a project of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization under a contract with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Gentiva’s participation in the program ensures that staff understands the unique needs of veterans and is prepared to meet the specific challenges that veterans and their families may face at the end of life.
