The Choctaw Plaindealer
The town of Ackerman will soon be welcoming a new business into the community as The Eclectic Soul will make its debut on November 14.
Store owner Amanda Montgomery is a purveyor of antiques, primitives, and vintage treasures. Her store will allow local artists and crafty people in the Choctaw area an outlet for their creative and industrious soul. Montgomery is hoping that the store will reflect her eclectic personality and interests while providing a service for those interested.
Montgomery is excited about bringing this venture to Choctaw County. “We are excited about helping bring more business to Main Street,” Montgomery said. “We are hoping for local support as well as showcasing local talent for the outside visitors that frequent Pap’s Place and Main Street Fabrics.”
At this time, Montgomery is looking for vendors to fill booth spaces for the opening of the store. “We are renting booth space for antiques, crafts, and gift items,” Montgomery said. “Booth spaces and prices vary. We will also be featuring ‘Woodwick Candles’.”
After the initial opening, Montgomery hopes that with the vendors attending, their products will help with their inventory. “We hope to expand our items on a monthly basis building our inventory as we go,” Montgomery said. “We hope that customers will visit us when we open but check back regularly for ever changing inventory.”
The Eclectic Soul will be located at 103 East Main Street in Ackerman. The store hours will be Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., closed on Wednesday and Sunday, and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.
