Chester Baptist Church Fall Festival Oct. 30
Chester Baptist Church will hold its annual Fall Festival Wednesday, October 30 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Family Life Center at the church. Children are encouraged to dress in their favorite non-spooky costume. Everyone is invited to this fun night of food and fellowship.

Fundraiser for Animal Shelter
The Choctaw Co. Animal Shelter will be hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, November 2 from 9am-4pm. It will be located in Enon’s Lighthouse Bldg. There will be local craftsmen booths, food, and games for the kids. $1 admission. For more info contact Angela Paine at 285-8996.
Baby Brantley Benefit Nov. 2
A benefit for baby Brantley Blessike will be Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. until at the Woodmen of the World lodge in Eupora. All proceeds will go to his medical expenses.
Brantley was born Aug. 24 to Brandi and Barry Blessike. At 3 days old, Brantley’s blood glucose dropped, which caused a stroke and brain damage. He was sent to UMC where he stayed in the PICU for seven days. There is still no diagnosis. All that is known is that he has a rare genetic disorder. He is still undergoing tests to figure out the cause of his severe glucose problem.
The benefit will feature live music, a cakewalk, auction at 2 p.m. and inflatables for children. Lunch plates are $5 and will include a choice of hamburgers, hot dogs and barbecue. Donations can be made for the Brantley Blessike Benefit at the Bank of Kilmichael.
The Choctaw County Flea Market will be held Saturday, November 2 in Ackerman. There is no vendor fee. Applications are available at the Choctaw County Extension Office, Broken Wings and Chamber of Commerce Office. Benefit for Tammy Talley Hadley
Benefit for Tammy Talley Hadley, daughter of Denton and Betty Talley on Saturday November 2. Proceeds will be used to cover Funeral Expenses for Ernest Clifford Hadley III. The benefit will be held at Stewart Fire Dept., Hwy. 82, Stewart, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Hamburger plates will be $6 and hotdog plates will be $5. There will also be a cake walk and auction. Raffle tickets will also be sold on a chance for $100 and a Flower Fruit Block Quilt.

As part of the 22nd Annual Hazard Lecture Series, “Voyage from the Past – The Sesquicentennial of the Civil War,” Choctaw County native Michael Ballard will speak on Monday evening, November 4 at 7 p.m. on “The Civil War on the Rivers in Mississippi.” The event will take place at Heritage Academy in Columbus, Mississippi, in their Elementary Activity Building/Auditorium, located at 623 Willowbrook Road. Pulled Pork Lunch and Baked Sale
Antioch Methodist Church will be at the Choctaw Co Flea Market on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. selling pulled pork lunches, Krispy Kreme donuts, baked goods, coffee and hot chocolate. All proceeds will go toward the building of a new fellowship hall.

Choctaw County NAACP Branch #5631 will host their Fifth Annual Freedom Fund Banquet, on the 1st Saturday night, November 2. Tickets cost is $15 per person.
