County supervisors sell two more motor graders

In the first meeting of October, the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors opened bids to sell two used motor graders.

District 1 and District 3 previously advertised to sell one used motor grader each.

District 1 bids were: Martin and Martin $37,833 and Dean Co. $33,100

District 3 bids were: Track Traders $110,000, Martin and Martin $105,687, Dean Co. $115,100.

After a short discussion the board approved to sell the motor graders from District 1 to Martin and Martin and District 3 to Dean Co.

The Choctaw County Board of Supervisors approved:

-Agenda after adding the nursing home roof.

-September minutes.

-Claims.

-Jail inspection.

-All monies at the end of fiscal year 2013 in each fund shall be carried forward and budgeted.

-Transfer $57,000 from Fund 125 to Fund 225.

-Recognize the end of the fiscal year inventory list as presented by Diane Pyron, inventory clerk.

-Recognize the end of the fiscal year civil and criminal aging report for Circuit Court, as presented by Peggy Miller, Circuit clerk.

-Recognize the end of the fiscal year aging report on accounts receivable for Justice Court, as presented by Theresa Weeks, Justice Court clerk.

-Bid from Dixie Roofing to repair two places on the roof at the Choctaw Nursing Center.

-Solid Waste postage request of $276.

-Travel and registration for Brent McKnight, county emergency management director, to the EMA Midwinter Conference November 11-13 at Choctaw, Ms.

-Resignation of Wesley Strutton as deputy for the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office, as requested by Sheriff Cloyd Halford.

-To advertise to hire a deputy for the CCSO, as requested by Sheriff Cloyd Halford.

The next Board of Supervisors meeting will be October 21 at 9 a.m. in the boardroom at the Choctaw County Courthouse.
