Farm Bureau of Choctaw County is inviting the public to attend the 3rd Annual Health Fair on October 15 at the Community Center in Ackerman from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
This event allows vendors and exhibitors of health service products to present their items to the public as well as educate on all aspects of health, wellness, and lifestyle improvements. The event has been coordinated every year by Frances Odom, who stated the event has been getting bigger by the year.
This year’s event will include between 35-40 vendors. Vendors not only sell products during the event, but some also provide vital education and health services. Some of the items vendors provide are medical supplies, home security systems, alert bracelets, etc.
Besides vendors, other health care providers that will be on hand are numerous hospitals, nursing homes, and hospices. Winston Medical Center in Louisville and Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw are just a few health care providers that will be at this year’s health fair. Last year, Winston Medical Center provided flu shots for the community. Coordinators of the fair are hoping that this service will again be provided at this year’s fair.
The fair will also be visited by the crew of the MedStat EMS in their helicopter. They will provide information regarding the services they offer.
The annual health fair will be followed up with Farm Bureau hosting their annual supper for their members later that evening.
