Head Start students enjoy visit from APD

From press reports

The Reform Head Start Center’s unit topic was “Play It Safe” and the local police department came out and shared safety tips with the students.

Ackerman Police Chief Kevin Stark and Officer Lloyd Dinning allowed the children to ask them questions and listened to the children’s thoughts about the police and safety.  The officers discussed bike safety, fire safety and reminded the children to call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency. The children really enjoyed seeing the police cars’ lights and hearing the sirens. The officers also let the children know that they are our friends and they do not have to be afraid.
