By Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce
Alyssa Pritchett, a student at Choctaw County High School, submitted the winning name for the Chamber of Commerce’s contest to name the fall festival on Saturday, October 26. The event will be called Jack-O-Lantern Jam. Pritchett’s submission was selected by a committee of volunteers.
Jack-O-Lantern Jam will begin at 4 p.m. on October 26th with a pumpkin carving/decorating contest followed by a costume contest, trunk-or-treat and an outdoor showing of a Scooby Doo episode for families.
Registration forms are available for trunk-or-treat, food concessions, and activity set up.
The Jack-O-Lantern Jam committee would like encourage different groups in the community to participate by setting up carnival booths or trunks at the event. After the success of last year’s event the Chamber of Commerce would like to expand the event with more activities. If your business, church or organization would like to participate in Jack-O-Lantern Jam please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 662-285-3778 or stop by the office in the J.P. Coleman Building at 55 East Quinn Street, Ackerman.
