After a pair of three-set losses, including a division defeat at the hands of Caledonia, the Choctaw County High School volleyball team continues its strong schedule this week.

The Lady Chargers are set to visit Pontotoc on Thursday before returning home to host Amory Monday at 5 p.m.

CCHS head coach Gary Beals hopes to have his lone returning starter — Tiara Conner — back on the court by next week. “That’s what we are hoping for,” Beals said. “If all goes well she will be released and ready to play. She will really help us.”

Beals said overall the team is improving, but the schedule is relentless. “It’s a tough one,” Beals said. “But, we are getting experience and working on getting better.”

Last week the Lady Chargers fell to Starkville High School 25-5, 25-18 and 25-9 on Tuesday, before dropping a 25-22, 25-14, 25-10 decision to Caledonia on Thursday. Choctaw County High School is 1-4 overall and 1-2 in division play.
