After another successful year completed, the Choctaw County Steelers Little League football team began their 2013 Little League Football season this past Saturday at Dale Davidson Field.

With its popularity steadily increasing in the surrounding areas, many parents and others were on hand to bring in the new season. League President George Coleman is back for another year to provide this opportunity for the youth in the community.

The Choctaw Steelers begin their season by competing against the Macon Broncos. Three games were played during the course of the day. The 6-8 yr. old teams went head to head with the Broncos, with the young Steelers with an impressive 32-20 victory. The next game featured the 9-10 yr. olds with the Steelers edging out the Broncos with a 2-0 win. The last game was between the 11-12 yr. old teams, with the Broncos winning 21-0. The game had a high attendance of Steelers fans and Broncos fans, which made the trip from Macon. The Steelers will prepare over the course of the week to face the Starkville Raiders in Starkville on Aug. 24 at 10 a.m.
