Mr. Larry Eugene Ray

Funeral services for Larry Eugene Ray, 56, were held on July 30, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Ackerman Baptist Church in Ackerman, MS with Rev. Danny Irvin and Rev. Roy Hawkins officiating. Interment was held at Salem Independent Church Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

Mr. Ray was a member of Ackerman Baptist Church and was a carpenter.

Survivors include wife, Janet Butler Ray of Ackerman, MS; sons, Michael Fulgham of Columbus, MS and Taylor Ray of Birmingham, AL; daughters, Christy Harill of Tuscaloosa, AL, Alana Ray and Marlana Ray both of Starkville, MS; brothers, Lamar Ray of Oxford, MS and 7 grandchildren.

Ms. Susie Brewer

Kosciusko, MS

Susie Lee Moore Turner Brewer, 70, died July 26, 2013 at her home.  Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 29 in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Carson Ridge Cemetery.  Rev. Tony Black officiated the services.

She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include sons, Frank Sanders of Winona, MS, Jimmy Dewayne Brewer of Kosciusko, and Tommy F. Brewer of Kosciusko; daughters, Bertha Armentrout of Kosciusko, Sandra Whysall of French Camp, MS, and Tammie Westbrook of Ethel, MS; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bobby Brewer, Royce Westbrook, Logan Cummins, Michael Hensley, Darren Brewer, and Timothy Johnston.

Jordan Funeral Home of Kosciusko was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mrs. Allie Kate Collum Box

Mrs. Allie Kate Collum Box, 79, retired homemaker, died July 18, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Eupora, Ms. Funeral Services were held 2 PM Saturday, July 20 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the McCurtain’s Creek Cemetery in Choctaw County. Bro. Warren Hunt officiated. She was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Attala County, Ms. Mrs. Box is survived by a son; Bro. Lanny Collum, Mathiston, Ms., 1 grandson and 1 great grandson. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of all arrangements.

 

Mrs. Maurine Smith

Mrs. Maurine Smith, 88, retired factory employee and homemaker, died July 16, 2013 at the Brooklyn Hall Nursing Home in Mathiston, Ms.

Funeral Services were held 3 PM Friday July 19 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Choctaw County with burial in the Church Cemetery. Bro. Ralph Cain officiated.

Pallbearers were; Justin, Lee Allen, Daniel and Jason Smith, Virgil and Ben Burton, Michael and David Hobson, Kyle Burns, Johnny and Ronald Smith and Eckle Smith Jr.

She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith is survived by 2 daughters; Agnes Hobson, Pearl, Ms., and Rose Burton, Ackerman, Ms., 4 sons; John Allen Smith, Starkville, Ms., Eckle R. Smith, Eddie Smith and Jimmy Smith all of Mathiston, Ms., 1 sister; Dealean Pruden, Louise, Ms., 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of all arrangements.

 

Ms. Minnie Susan Kyles

Funeral services for Minnie Susan Kyles, 64, were held on July 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. Interment was held at Chester Baptist Church Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

Ms. Kyles was a native of Choctaw County.

Survivors include son, Brian Kyles of Ackerman, MS; daughter Rebecca Oswalt of Ackerman, MS; brother, Howard Crowley of Ackerman, MS; sister Margaret Kent of Ackerman, MS and 3 grandchildren.
