Chamber seeks help to name Fall Fest event

By Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce

The Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce needs your help in creating a theme for this year’s fall festival/Halloween event, which will take place on Saturday, October 26. The Chamber is looking for a name and image to promote the event to the county.

Entries are being sought in two categories, the first category is for a name and the second category is for an image. You can make multiple submissions in each category. All submissions and artwork must be original and belong to the entry holder. The contest is open to kids and adults. Winners from each category will receive a prize package and be recognized at the event.

The winning submissions will be used on posters, t-shirts, web advertisements, etc., to promote this event for many years to come. Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce is looking for an eye catching image and fun name like Pumpkinpalooza, the fall festival event hosted by Starkville Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The Chamber will build off the success of last year’s Trunk or Treat and Spooktacular Parade to add more events and activities for families. The Scarecrow Trail will be back along with a pumpkin decorating contest and costume contest. When the sun goes down this year there will be an outdoor movie.

You can drop off your entries at the Chamber of Commerce office located on 55 East Quinn Street in Ackerman, submitted via e-mail to or leave them on the Chamber’s Facebook page, Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce.

All entries must be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce by Friday, August 16 at 4 p.m. The entries will be viewed and selected by a committee. If you have any questions, please contact the Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce at 662-285-3778.
