Corey Blaylock, principal at Choctaw County High School, last week. The Choctaw County School Board approved his resignation and letting him out of his contract in their June 25 special board meeting.

Blaylock served as principal at Ackerman High School for two years. AHS is now Choctaw County High School due to the restructuring of the Choctaw County School District schools.

Superintendent Glen Beard said Blaylock is leaving because he received an “opportunity to advance in the profession for him and his wife.”

He added, “We appreciate the hard work that Mr. Blaylock has put in the past two years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Now the search begins for a principal for CCHS.

“We will open the position up and conduct interviews and hire the person that is the best for the students and faculty for Choctaw County High School,” said Beard.

He said the CCSD plans to have a CCHS principal in place when school begins in August.
