Mrs. Elaine Oswalt Perry

Ackerman, MS

Mrs. Elaine Oswalt Perry, 75, of Ackerman died Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Mathiston.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 2:00pm at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Webster County. Bro. Michael Mann and Bro. James McElroy officiated. Visitation was Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Born in Mathiston, Mrs. Perry was the daughter of the late Walter and Pearl Oswalt of Maben. She was a member of the Mathiston Church of God. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Averett and Mary Grimes.

She loved her children and grandchildren. She was hard working and loved working in her yard and visiting with people. She loved the Lord and going to church and loved her church family. She was a great Christian woman and was always willing to help anyone in need. Every one who knew her thought she was a very kind lady.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Fowler and Lorie Wood of Ackerman, sons, James Salley of Ackerman, Johnny Salley of Grenada, Roger Salley of Ackerman, brothers, James Oswalt of Mathiston, William Oswalt of Waco, TX, Joe Oswalt of San Antonio, TX, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Phillip Fowler, Will Salley, Justin Salley, Joey Salley, Jonathan Salley and Bill King.

Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of arrangements.


Mr. Aldun Lee Howard

Mr. Aldun Lee Howard, 60, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS. Graveside services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, 6/23, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Franklin Smith officiating. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Howard was born November 26, 1952, in Louisville. He worked as a welder on an offshore oil rig.

He is survived by a daughter, Ashley Jones of Wichita Fall, TX; a son, Chris Howard of Pineville, NC; a sister, Mary Howard of Nacogdoches, TX; and three brothers, Tony Howard of Louisville, Algene Howard of Pontotoc, and Leo Howard of McCool.

Pallbearers were Robby Dempsey, Clinton Howard, Jason Howard, Jeremy Howard, Jacob Howard, and Justin Howard.
