The Choctaw County Farmers’ Market was scheduled to be held every Friday in June and July. Due to weather conditions that delayed planting, the market will not be held in June.
Driver Ed. Registration
Classes will be July 8-July 26, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., daily. Cost $150. Students receive ½ credit. Students are responsible for obtaining driving permit or drivers license before assigned driving time. Contact Lynn Scribner at the school 285-4101 to sign up. Class is limited to the first 20 to sign up.
VBS at Ackerman Baptist
Grab your tickets and head on over to Colossal Coaster World™! Come join us as we experience the thrill and excitement of a day at the park! As we explore the park, kids will enter Worship Rally at the Main Gate and make their first stop at Coaster Alley for Bible study. While touring the park, kids will also visit the Cotton Candy Cafe for snacks, the Adrenaline Zone for recreation, Tune Town for music, and the Scissors and Stuff Emporium for crafts. Meet & Greet at Weir Clinic
Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw and the Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce will host a grand re-opening for the Pioneer Family Medical of Weir on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
The public is invited to attend the grand re-opening from 10 a.m. to noon. Pioneer Family Medical of Weir will welcome Cherrie Winter, CFNP and her staff. This is an opportunity to meet and greet with all of the staff at the clinic.
Bluff Springs Baptist revival
Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Choctaw County will have revival services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. July 7, and July 8-10 at 7 p.m. The Rev. Allen Robinson, pastor of Rosedale Baptist Church, will be the visiting speaker.
VBS at Providence Baptist

The NAACP of Choctaw County will meet April 15 at 6 p.m. at Mt. Hermon Church in Ackerman. New members are welcome. The NAACP meets the third Monday of every month.
Cooking Workshops for youth
This is the second of three cooking workshops for youth that will be held this summer at the Choctaw County Extension Office. Ole’ beans Ole’ is for youth 6-9 years of age. It will be held July 18 from 10-11 am at the Choctaw County Extension Office. We will make Ole’ frijoles (bean dip), discuss different beans and how they are used, bean bag toss, microwave safety & more. Space is limited. To pre-register, call 285-6337.
Cooking Workshops for youth
This is the last of three cooking workshops for youth that will be held this summer at the Choctaw County Extension Office. The Incredible Edible 5 food groups are for youth 6-9 years of age. It will be held July 25 from 10-11:00 am at the Choctaw County Extension Office. We will make learn how to build a healthy plate, prepare an incredible edible 4 food-group parfait and do fun activities. Space is limited. To pre-register, call 285-6337.

The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association will meet Thursday, June 27th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Starkville. Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch is served at 11:30. Please make a note that NARFE will not meet in July and August.
