Betty Paty receives degree from East Central Community College

The family and friends of Mrs. Betty Paty congratulate her for receiving an Associate of Science degree with honors in Early Childhood Technology from East Central Community College during commencement services on May 11, 2013 at the Neshoba County Coliseum.

Mrs. Paty is married to Lewis Paty, Sr. She is the mother of 4 children, Beverly Carter (Willie), Lewis Paty, Jr., Sabrina Paty (Adrian), and Menyon Sanders. She also has 6 grandchildren.

Mrs. Paty is a 1976 graduate of Weir High School. After being out of school for over 30 years, she decided to pursue an Associate’s degree. Her love for working with children helped her to decide her major. She volunteered for several years at Head Start working in the classroom and was later hired as a janitor. After being hired as a janitor, she continued to help in the classrooms when needed.

Mrs. Paty attended evening classes at ECCC while working full time. It was hard work, but her determination helped her to achieve her goal. Upon receiving her degree, she was hired as a teacher’s Assistant at Head Start.
