Choctaw Co. Generating Station gives back

By Press Reports

NRG’s annual Global Giving Day was set for Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

For the sixth year in a row, employees across the NRG Company took time during their workdays to help charitable organizations in our communities.

NRG’s Choctaw County Generating Station chose French Camp Academy as their local organization to provide and coordinate a group of employee volunteers.

On May 9, Will Salley of Ackerman, Tim Parrett of Starkville and Tim Sims of Louisville, all from the Choctaw County Generating Station, volunteered to help paint cabins prior to Pioneer Day at French Camp.

Then on May 13, Will Salley of Ackerman, Stacey Thornton of Ackerman, Johnny DeLaSalle of McCool, Millard Brock of Carthage, Allen Siedmiorka of Starkville and Tim Sims of Louisville provided a community service by volunteering to pick up trash from the Choctaw Station to the Welcome Center in French Camp.

Also, as part of the NRG Global Giving Day, NRG donated $1,000 to Broken Wing Ministries to provide food bank groceries and purchase a new freezer.
